State of Medicare in California
California’s Inaugural Medicare Convening
February 26, 2026 | 9:00am – 4:00pm (PT)
Sheraton Grand, Sacramento, CA
Chapman Consulting is proud to host the inaugural State of Medicare in California Convening.
With more than 6 million Medicare beneficiaries—nearly 15% of the nation's total—California is home to one of the largest and fastest-growing Medicare populations in the country. As the state advances bold initiatives to reimagine care for older adults and individuals with disabilities, critical questions are emerging about how Medicare can adapt to deliver high-quality, equitable, and sustainable care.
The State of Medicare in California Convening is the first event of its kind: an invitation-only gathering of regulators, providers, advocates, health plans, and thought leaders. Together, participants will explore the intersection of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Long-Term Services and Supports, and chart a path to meet the evolving needs of California's diverse population.
This convening will:
- Examine how Medicare can evolve to meet the needs of California's dynamic population, and explore strategies to ensure sustainability, success, and growth.
- Assess the impacts of major state initiatives, including the Master Plan for Aging, Exclusively Aligned Enrollment, Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans, the expansion of PACE, and Proposition 1, and identify opportunities to leverage them.
- Consider how California can continue to utilize the Office of Medicare Innovation and Integration to strategically support the Medicare population and serve as a national leader.
